Youth & Education

For over, the last fifteen years HAVOYOCO has been running marketable technical and vocational skills trainings to re-integrate the most vulnerable youth in Somaliland through promotion and provision of vocational skills training for employment.  According to the program registration records, nearly 8000 where 49% of them are girls successfully graduated from the havoyoco’s technical and vocation centers established across the different regions in Somaliland. HAVOYOCO has a number of donor and partners including International and UN organizations who funds its ongoing programmes.

The youth skills training, empowerment, and education program targets the most vulnerable and poorest groups found in internally displaced camps(IDPs), returnees refugees and other destitute youth who are mainly from low-income families. The organization set a five-year strategic plan in 2016 -2020 and a youth employment is the first prioritized program which their strategic objective focuses on; creation of employment opportunities and provision of marketable skills for the youth improved.

The vocational center has rapidly grown and gained the reputation of providing quality education with high chances of employment on immediate completion of the courses. The center initially started with intake students of 50, who used to apply for the different training courses and currently center receives estimated applications 1500 around every year. Currently, HAVOYOCO runs 6 active projects under Youth Skills Training, Empowerment and education program, which addresses on youth employment creations through equipping them soft and hard skills required the market labor in Somaliland.

Finally, Havoyoco runs programs that focus work readiness and employability skills to university graduate student
