Skills Training Project

              Empowering Youth through Education and Skills transfer

Hormarinta Cilmiga is a European Union funded project implemented by a consortium including Save the Children(Lead Agency), Norwegian Refugee Council, Care International and Somaliland Ministry of Education (MoE). This project is also designed to address the needs of students in Somaliland schools and it is geared towards strengthening the curriculum of primary and secondary schools as well as higher education. In addition, the development of education project will bring to an end the current project-based approach to education by creating synergy and bringing in an education sector wide approach whereby MoE of Somaliland takes the primary role in leading the program. At the beginning of the project implementation, HAVOYOCO and Save the Children (SCI) conducts market analysis about the profitability and market driven skills that would be suitable for all trainees according to their settings or regions. After securing jobs for the expected trainees, advertisement of four skills training, namely, Office Management, Carpentry & Joinery, Hospitality and cooking, was made according to the prioritized list made by the TVET centers with SCI and HAVOYOCO.
