The cross-cutting issues that HAVOYOCO addresses throughout all of its programmes are conflict sensitivity, gender equity and capacity building.

Conflict sensitivity

HAVOYOCO shall develop an awareness mechanism to assess emergency parameters while in working in an environment that is always conflict sensitive and hence ensure and link conflict analysis to the programming cycle of its interventions. The strategy might include annual emergence assessment by the top management so as to communicate and circulate the assessment report to all organizational staff and the policy groups.

Gender equity

HAVOYOCO will ensure Gender mainstreaming through good gender analysis across the area of operation and development of an effective gender strategy. HAVOYOCO shall consider gender issue in all its quantitative decisions and report respective in the annual reports.

Capacity building

HAVOYOCO will prioritize capacity building for both beneficiaries and organizational staff that are delivering the program to the target groups. HAVOYOCO will develop a system that ensures staff trainings according to the staff appraisal findings so as to respond staff training needs as part of a comprehensive staff development strategy.

Peace Building and Community engagement

In most of the cases, the most marginalized and the poor face the brunt of communal conflicts. HAVOYOCO has been working on this issue in nationally for years recognizing the crucial worth of peace for reducing poverty and inequality. It has consistently provided immediate relief and rehabilitation during times of conflict while also looking for long-term solutions for peace building. HAVOYOCO would be working towards building partners capacity to address communal conflict and peace building

Engagement with the Private Sector

HAVOYOCO is aware the importance and sustainability in engaging entrepreneurship   in the Private sector it plays a key role in augmenting a nation’s income and growth through its provision of employment opportunities for the poor, At the same time, private sector is also liable to wield an unequal power over the political system for policies that favour its interests very often at the expense of the poor
